Locus Salmon is based in Monterey County, California, and is a small business co-owned by life-long friends. We take pride in our collaborative and entrepreneurial journey.

Founder & CEO

Zaki Ibessaine

Zaki Ibessaine, founder and CEO of Locus Salmon, is a passionate advocate for sustainability and pet health. Born and raised on Monterey Bay, with deep roots in the fishing industry.He has vast experience as a commercial fisherman in NakNek Alaska for sockeyed salmon. Zaki's childhood experiences on the Mediterranean and his love for the ocean have shaped his commitment to environmental stewardship. As an avid surfer, fisherman, and scuba diver, he has explored the world's oceans. Zaki's dedication to sustainability is evident in his work at Locus Salmon. Zaki is currently studying agricultural communications and lives on the California Coast.

Co-founder& Creative Director

Ryder Weston

Ryder, a lifelong Carmel Valley resident, was born in Monterey, California. His passion for animals, nature, and the ocean began at a young age. After attending All Saints Day School and Stevenson High School, where he developed a love for music and the outdoors, Ryder worked as a head instructor at the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. Currently, he is studying music production and business at the University of Colorado Boulder.

As Creative Director, Ryder gets his inspiration from family. He comes from a long line of world-famous photographers, including Edward Weston.
